Alicia Di Scenza

Paralegal

Alicia obtained her undergraduate law degree at Aston University in 2019. She completed a Masters in Law at the University of Birmingham, with a focus on international commercial and trade law topics, and will be taking the Legal Practice Course in her spare time.

Outside of work, Alicia enjoys playing guitar, attending music festivals with friends and spending time with her two rescue cats.

Landlord's dispensation for major works: getting it right

Many residential landlords will be familiar with the requirement to consult with tenants before major works are carried out. The landlord's right to seek dispensation from the Tribunal where it has failed to consult is perhaps less well understood. In a recent Upper Tribunal appeal, Hughes Paddison successfully challenged the First Tier Tribunal’s interpretation of the law. New Digital LPAs- A welcome reform or a minefield

The OPG registered a record 1,073,032 LPAs in 2022-2023. Concerns over the paper-based system led to reforms, culminating in the Powers of Attorney Act 2023 for a safer and simpler process.
